2011/WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

The new year is upon us all, ready or not. Like so many, I have contemplated whether or not I will make a new year's resolution. Will I lift some unrealistic expectation up before my own eyes and long with desperation to meet the mark with the foremost goal being to impress my friends and wow my enemies? Well why not? For years I have set resolutions each January 1. And for years, by sun down I had lost my motivation and drive to even go forth a second day.  But there were those rare times when I set some personal goals for myself and set out on a path of success. Those goals often took more than one year to achieve. Therefore, I had to recommit the  following  year to continue on my journey. I was able to stick with them long enough to convert them from goals to mindsets, from mindsets to habit, from habit to ambition. They were important enough to me that I did not let a set back here or there sway my desire to press forward and achieve success.  So time and time again I directed and redirected my focus at the year's commencement. Sometimes successful, often times not. But always willing to challenge myself in some area of my life that I know had not been given its due attention. It may seem futile for some as it did for me once upon a time to set a new year's resolution.  But when life seems out of sorts, or just a bit boring and unfulfilled or lack luster, taking an inventory of what may need to change and setting about to change it seems a good idea. And what better time, that the New Year. 2011, what's in it for you?
